Desco Europe's Ionisers neutralise electrostatic charges on insulators and isolated (non-grounded) conductors to reduce the magnitude of electrostatic discharges (ESD) in the ESD Protected area (EPA). Point-of-use compresses gas ionisers, also known as ioniser guns, combat electrostatic attraction (ESA) by neutralising charges on surfaces and particles that otherwise cause contamination or visual defects on a product.

We offer a wide product range of ionisers including:

  • Bench Top
  • Overhead 2-Fan (with and without lights)
  • Overhead 3-Fan (with and without lights)
  • Compressed Gas Point-of use (Ion Gun)

Desco Europe products incorporate superior technology providing fast charge decay times, and such features as auto balancing offset voltage feedback controls, Automatic emitter cleaners, ergonomic hand controls and foot switches.

What does the standard say?

Per IEC61340-5-1:2016, INTRODUCTION, "Necessary insulators in the environment cannot lose their electrostatic charge by attachment to ground. Ionization systems provide neutralization of charges on these necessary insulators (circuit board materials and some device packages are examples of necessary insulators)."
